Forget-me-not

Today’s post seemed to need a poem to go with 1890 image printed in NYC.

A spray of blue flowers cut too short for the vase,
Forget-me-nots, that’s their name; she said
They come back every year; annuals are faithful, she added.
Such a sad name for such a pretty flower, he remarked.
If I had known, I would have brought you daisies.
