Hanging stars on a clothesline

My hand fell over the handle

The pot’s lid trapping

the aroma of bouillabaisse before

attracting any more attention

Such a lyrical dish

has many a fish tale

Third eye of the sea,
the lonely lighthouse
never sleeps.

Deep footprints in mud
Up one side of the hill
Squirrels run
Masquerading as children playing
Hide and seek
I’ve been this way before
A rocky trail unfolding like moths

Let us toast to the old tree
Picnics in summer shade
A canopy of green
Where the hammock rocked gently
And fall leaves rustled under foot
But now she is gone
Mottled rings tell her age
Hushed secrets ancestral friend
Tree angels are here for you

Do you believe in magic…

It’s nice to believe in magic
that
Butterflies paint flower petals
Dabbling colors with brushes
and dry them in the wind
With acceptance comes trust

Faraway thought

Children are delicate
Each as different as a spring bud
Treat them with kindness
And when you speak
Bend down so they can see
your face, your eyes, and your smile
