Age is just a number, it’s how you use it that counts…

Balance is a useful word, giving symmetry and order to things. One can have a balanced diet, a balanced checkbook, and a balanced design. We can balance a scale by placing two equal objects on the level; we can balance our lives with an even amount of doing and not doing, dividing our time between work and play, family, and personal time.

A balanced photograph offers a visual that commands attention equally within its frame as well as the art of balance where we think of walking on a tightrope, balancing an object without spilling, or keeping oneself steady from falling.

So, today’s post is for all who are trying to keep their balance, may it be physically or mentally.  For those of us over 65, balance may not come easy but remember, become a symphony, and write your own music with time, cadence, and perhaps a bit of balance.

You are not getting older, you are getting better!

Seniors Rock!

Growing old was something that happens to the other guy, something down the road, something that happened to your parents and was always with your grandparents. We went to school to prepare for the future but never really noting that thing called old age; that thing that eventually creeps up like a vine and suddenly covers the whole wall.

But for those who are in the clutches of this strange phenomenon, I say, “old age,” what’s that? For numbers are merely expressions that value, amount, and order. As such, why be afraid if you’re 55, 65, 75, 85 and so on! It doesn’t mean you’ve lost anything; rather, you’ve added.

So for those who look upon age with lamentation, I say, “You’re not getting old, you’re getting better…Seniors Rock!”
